My Background

I live in Surrey with my husband, my daughter, my chocolate Labrador Rock and two cats!

I was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy so know first-hand the anxieties and social issues that come with having a disability.

I originally trained and received a Level 3 NVQ as a medical secretary and worked in a General Practice setting.

I came across hypnotherapy and CBT independently of each other when I suffered with some anxiety related to my disability. I was intrigued by the power of the mind, and I decided to study CBT hypnotherapy with The UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy where I graduated with a Level 4 NCFE Diploma. This was an evidence and science-based course accredited by the British Psychological Society.

I then went on to study with The Hampshire School of Hypnotherapy where I completed both the Smoking Cessation and Hypno-Gastric Band continual professional development courses. I also completed an online IBS course with Academy of the Inner Mind.

Most recently I competed an 8-week signature anxiety course which led me to the topic I am most passionate about! I now make presentations to workplaces and individually about understanding and controlling anxiety.

I am a registered practitioner with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) validated by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council.

I hold Professional Liability insurance.

What is CBT?

CBT stands for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. It is a type of psychotherapy that involves changing negative thought patterns and behaviours to improve mental health and overall well-being. It is commonly used to treat anxiety, depression and other disorders. CBT typically involves identifying negative thoughts and behaviours and developing strategies to change them. This may involve techniques such as relaxation training, exposure therapy and cognitive restructuring.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a type of therapy that uses hypnosis to help individuals achieve their goals or overcome certain problems. During a hypnotherapy session, I induce a state of deep relaxation and give positive suggestions to make positive changes in behaviour, emotions or beliefs.

What is CBT Hypnotherapy?

CBT hypnotherapy is a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and hypnotherapy techniques. It is a therapy that helps clients to identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviours whilst using hypnosis to induce a relaxed state where the therapist can provide positive suggestions for change. At your free half an hour initial consultation we will go through some health and medical forms to ensure you have no Contra indications to hypnotherapy. You will outline a brief description of your presenting issue and the goals or changes you hope to achieve with CBT hypnotherapy. This is also a chance for you to ask any questions you may have. I will give you a brief outline of what hypnotherapy is and how it works, before we go on to book your first hypnotherapy session. I do not charge for initial consultations. This ensures that if you decide that hypnotherapy is not suitable for you or I am unable to treat you for any reason, that you have not lost money and I can signpost you on to alternative therapies or help that may be more suitable.

Jessica gave a clear explanation of hypnotherapy and what to expect from the sessions. She reassured me that anything we discussed would remain confidential and she was excellent at listening to my anxiety related issues and gave me plenty of space and encouragement to talk. She offered useful insights and suggestions where appropriate. The actual hypnosis session was extremely relaxing and has helped me manage my anxiety. I will continue to refer to the sessions as a means of support. Jessica’s down to earth and calm approach to problems are a real asset and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.

I had some hypnotherapy sessions ahead of my driving theory test as I was suffering with nerves and anxiety.
Jess made me feel really relaxed and explained everything really clearly.
I was so relaxed during our sessions and walked into the theory test room with a newfound confidence and self belief and am pleased to report that I passed first time!

I was extremely excited to embark on my hypnosis gastric band journey, from the comfort of my own surroundings. I needed to change my mindset and my relationship with food.
From the very first session I chose healthy alternatives, took smaller portions and ate mindfully, all without having to think about it and feeling fully satisfied. By the time I’d had my fourth session I’d already lost 10lb without even thinking about it. Jess is reassuring, professional, compassionate, very flexible around my busy schedule and has been at the end of the phone if needed.

‘I always looked forward to my weekly sessions with Jess! She listened, helped me relax and provided me with easy manageable solutions. The massive change is sleep. Listening to her audios and helping me with breathing technique’s, I now sleep soundly. Talking to Jess and listening to her audios is a life changer! She really is a miracle worker!

‘The ‘Understanding Anxiety’ course was very informative including lots of tips I can use in everyday life. Jessica managed the group well; her delivery style is professional but empathetic. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to understand anxiety & manage it more effectively.

Jess made me feel very comfortable and relaxed, she explained everything and what was going to happen at the start of each session. She explained the science behind the reasons why you would do certain tasks during therapy and how your brain responds. I didn’t feel as if I was just there to overcome my fear of spiders, it helped me think about the coping techniques that I could apply to other areas in my life.

Jess was conscious that each person is different and that not every technique is going to work the same way for everyone. She put a lot of thought into researching before each session and listening to the feedback at the end so that she could prepare for the next session.

Jess was really caring and I think this helped me relax even more and I got the most out of each session. Jess was able to give me areas to focus on if I ever get into situations that I find challenging and what I can do to focus my mind and logically think about what’s going on rather than being irrational. I can’t thank Jess enough for helping me step away from fears and look at the situation from a prospective that I wasn’t able to before. She goes above and beyond to make sure you get the most out of each session.
