About Me

I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist. I help people overcome their personal struggles through the power of hypnotherapy and teach them coping skills.

As a firm believer in the transformative power of the mind, I am passionate about helping people tap into their subconscious to unlock their full potential. My approach combines the latest techniques in cognitive behavioural therapy (a technique used widely within the NHS), with the calming and healing benefits of hypnotherapy to create a customised treatment plan for everyone.

I help clients overcome a wide range of issues. My speciality being to help people understand and control their anxiety, but also with depression, phobias and more.

My goal is to empower individuals with the tools to take control of their lives and achieve their full potential. Whether you are struggling with a specific issue or simply seeking personal growth and self-improvement, I am here to guide you on your journey to success. I am not here simply for an hour of therapy, I’m here to give YOU the tools to continue improving your life moving forward!

My Background

I live in Surrey with my husband, my daughter, my chocolate Labrador Rock and two cats!

I was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy so know first-hand the anxieties and social issues that come with having a disability.

I originally trained and received a Level 3 NVQ as a medical secretary and worked in a General Practice setting.

I came across hypnotherapy and CBT independently of each other when I suffered with some anxiety related to my disability. I was intrigued by the power of the mind, and I decided to study CBT hypnotherapy with The UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy where I graduated with a Level 4 NCFE Diploma. This was an evidence and science-based course accredited by the British Psychological Society.

I then went on to study with The Hampshire School of Hypnotherapy where I completed both the Smoking Cessation and Hypno-Gastric Band continual professional development courses. I also completed an online IBS course with Academy of the Inner Mind.

Most recently I competed an 8-week signature anxiety course which led me to the topic I am most passionate about! I now make presentations to workplaces and individually about understanding and controlling anxiety.

I am a registered practitioner with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) validated by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council.

I hold Professional Liability insurance.

What is CBT?

CBT stands for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. It is a type of psychotherapy that involves changing negative thought patterns and behaviours to improve mental health and overall well-being. It is commonly used to treat anxiety, depression and other disorders. CBT typically involves identifying negative thoughts and behaviours and developing strategies to change them. This may involve techniques such as relaxation training, exposure therapy and cognitive restructuring.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a type of therapy that uses hypnosis to help individuals achieve their goals or overcome certain problems. During a hypnotherapy session, I induce a state of deep relaxation and give positive suggestions to make positive changes in behaviour, emotions or beliefs.

What is CBT Hypnotherapy?

CBT hypnotherapy is a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and hypnotherapy techniques. It is a therapy that helps clients to identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviours whilst using hypnosis to induce a relaxed state where the therapist can provide positive suggestions for change. It aims to help clients change their negative thought patterns and behaviours by addressing the root cause of their problems.

FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION

At your free half an hour initial consultation we will go through some health and medical forms to ensure you have no Contra indications to hypnotherapy. You will outline a brief description of your presenting issue and the goals or changes you hope to achieve with CBT hypnotherapy. This is also a chance for you to ask any questions you may have. I will give you a brief outline of what hypnotherapy is and how it works, before we go on to book your first hypnotherapy session. I do not charge for initial consultations. This ensures that if you decide that hypnotherapy is not suitable for you or I am unable to treat you for any reason, that you have not lost money and I can signpost you on to alternative therapies or help that may be more suitable.
